CSA Farm
The gardens are being tilled and it is almost time to begin to plant at Charmingfare Farm for the Community Supported Agricultural (CSA) program for the 2022 season. If you have not joined a local CSA, you are missing out. Let me explain about the many advantages of a CSA program. It is 18 weeks of local grown vegetables and fruit that you pick up your share once a week. Here at Charmingfare Farm in Candia, NH we have been operating a successful CSA for over ten years. Our members return year after year for the quality, freshness, quantity, and variety we offer.
There is still time for you to join for the 2022 CSA’s season, but time is running out. Our first pick up begins on June 1, 2022. Charmingfare Farm’s CSA offers so many types of vegetable and fruit sure to please the entire family. Just like if you had your own garden the CSA begins with spring greens and as the summer continues so does the yield of what you will be receiving each Wednesday’s pickup.
At Charmingfare Farm CSA members and their family can during the pickup time go visit all the animals and walk around the farm. It makes a nice chance for families with young children to come see all the agricultural and wildlife animals for free.
Charmingfare Farm plants a wide variety of seasonal favorites starting with spring greens, lettuces, chives, radishes, rhubarb, fresh herbs, asparagus, fiddle heads, bunching onions, peas, mustard greens, garlic scapes, strawberries, kales, Swiss chard, celery, spinach, broccoli, green and yellow beans, cauliflower, cucumbers, cabbages, eggplant, turnip, onions, cherry tomatoes, tomatoes, peppers, hot peppers, colored peppers, corn, carrots, beets, garlic, raspberries, peaches, cherries, blueberries, summer squash, zucchini, watermelon, cantaloupe, spaghetti squash, acorn squash, butternut squash, sugar pumpkins, several variety of apples and potatoes. We do not grow all the fruit here we trade with other local NH farmers for some of the fruits. The farm uses organic practices but are not a certified Organic farm.
There are so many advantages of joining a csa farm. It helps support local farmers, it provides your family with local vegetable and fruit at a fixed 18-week costs, grocery prices are skyrocketing and the quality in the grocery store has been not a fresh due to trucking shortages. Do you know who your farmer is? You should because It just makes sense to know where your food is grown and who is growing it.
