Charmingfare Farm maintains approximately 200 acres of hay lands. The fields are soiled test and then limed & fertilized each year as required.
We make two types of hay bales; round bales and small square bales.
The round bales weigh approximately 650 pounds and are stored under cover. The round bales are hard core making them about 150 pounds heavier than a soft core bale. The round are covered with John Deere CoverEdge™.
John Deere CoverEdge™ goes right over the edge of the bale and snaps into place for better protection. With the elimination of shoulders, bales are perfectly shaped for better handling, transport and storage.
John Deere CoverEdge™ covers 15% more surface area of the round bale protects the edges of the bale and prevents rainwater penetration and moisture collection within the bale. It also improves the weather ability of the package. No loose “fluff” to pick up the moisture from rainfall.
Small Square Bales
Our small bales weigh between 40 to 50 pounds. They are tied with twine not wire.
