Spring is here, and it’s time for our Olde English Babydoll Sheep to get their annual haircut! Join us at Sheep Shearing Day for a fun and educational farm experience where you can witness the incredible process of sheep shearing and learn how wool goes from fleece to fiber.

What to Expect:

  • Live Sheep Shearing Demonstrations – Watch Katherine Hromis, an experienced sheep shearer, in action as she carefully shears our flock. Our staff will be on hand to explain the importance of this process in keeping our sheep happy and healthy.
  • Wool Spinning Demonstration – See firsthand how raw fleece is transformed into yarn with a live spinning demonstration.
  • Kids’ Wool Craft – Children can create a special craft using wool from our very own sheep and take home a piece of the experience!
  • Handmade Wool Products for Sale – Browse and shop unique, locally-made wool items crafted by talented artisans.

Watch as Katherine Hromis expertly shears our Olde English Babydoll Sheep, a vital process that keeps them comfortable and healthy. Shearing requires skill, precision, and care, and this is your chance to see it up close.

Learn about the techniques used to remove the fleece efficiently and why this practice is essential for sheep. Experience firsthand how their thick wool is carefully trimmed away in preparation for the warmer months.

Demonstrations take place from 11 AM to 3 PM.

We’re excited to welcome Eagle Aerie of Franklin, NH to Sheep Shearing Day! This charming fiber arts shop specializes in hand-dyed yarns, raw wool, and uniquely blended fibers. Visitors can explore a colorful variety of materials perfect for knitting, spinning, and crafting. Don’t miss the chance to meet the folks behind this creative community hub and learn more about their classes and offerings!

Ride Wristbands

Our Ride Wristband, available only on Saturdays and Sundays, provides access to all operational rides on the day of your visit. Every visitor aged 24 months and older must have a wristband to enjoy the rides below. Please note that on both the Horse-Drawn and Tractor Train Rides, children must be accompanied by an adult.

You Should Know

  • Please review our WEATHER POLICY .
    (Check if a weather alert has been posted before heading to the farm when there is inclement weather, especially when temperatures are 90 degrees or higher.)

  • WASH YOUR HANDS after visiting the animals. Parents should supervise children’s hand washing especially, before drinking or eating any food.

  • We cannot guarantee any particular animal(s) will be visible or on exhibit during your visit.

  • We deliberately allow the vegetation in our wildlife enclosures to become overgrown. This practice simulates a more natural habitat, creates a sense of security and we believe the ground stays cooler aiding in the comfort of the wildlife.

  • Our Animal Feed Cups DO NOT need meet the same standards of control as food for human consumption. Assume NO PRECAUTION has been taken towards anyone with a food allergy, especially with regards to peanuts.

  • The farm for the most part is wheelchair accessible. Please call 603 483-5623 x100 if you have any questions or concerns. We are always willing to accommodate request to the best of our ability.

  • FREE PARKING for all including campers and buses.

  • NO PETS ARE ALLOWED and there are no kennel facilities at the farm. Service animals are welcome.

What Animals Are on the Farm?
At Charmingfare Farm, you’ll encounter a wide variety of animals. From gentle alpacas and majestic beef cattle to friendly chickens, dairy cattle, and playful ducks and geese, there’s so much to see. Meet donkeys, draft horses, llamas, miniature horses, Nigerian goats, and Old English Babydoll sheep. You’ll also find oxen, peacocks, pigs, ponies, rabbits, saddle horses, and turkeys.

Explore Our Wild Side
Charmingfare Farm is also home to wildlife residents, including black bears, wolves, a camel, an eagle owl, red foxes, bobcats, coyotes, porcupines, raccoons, and fallow deer. Don’t miss our skunks for a unique experience. Every animal adds its own charm, making your visit unforgettable!
