Scouting for Bigfoot – Participants
Organizations

Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO)
The BFRO was founded in 1995 by Matt Moneymaker, and is the oldest and largest organization of its kind. It is a community of scientists, journalists, and specialists with a wide variety of backgrounds. The BFRO organizes and collects sighting reports and conducts expeditions to places where encounters have occurred. It has always been the policy of the BFRO to study the species in ways that will not physically harm them.
The overall mission of the BFRO is multifaceted, but the organization essentially seeks to resolve the mystery surrounding the bigfoot phenomenon by obtaining evidence of the species’ existence. This goal is pursued through the proactive collection of empirical data and physical evidence from the field and by means of activities designed to promote an awareness and understanding of the nature and origin of the evidence.

The New Hampshire Bigfoot Society
The New Hampshire Bigfoot Society is a non profit organization intent on bringing wildlife and outdoor safety awareness to all ages. By scouting for the illusive cryptid Bigfoot, we can help document and investigate reported encounters and sightings throughout New Hampshire of not only bigfoot, but other threatened or extinct species as well, such as the catamount and carcajou.
The New Hampshire Bigfoot Society has been a manifestation of the work by founder Kelly A Porter of Barrington NH. Together with his co-Director and lifelong friend Mike Tinsley of Epsom NH, the TNHBS has networked extensively throughout the Northeast with investigators, researchers, media outlets, filmmakers and organizers from Massachusetts, Maine, New York, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Vermont.
Our goal is public outreach and to help compile a comprehensive data base of Bigfoot wildlife research.

Squatchachusetts
Squatchachusetts is a group of researchers and citizen scientists dedicated to collecting evidence supporting the existence of Bigfoot, or Sasquatch, in Massachusetts. Their efforts are primarily focused within the state, though they also conduct research in other New England states. The organization aims to combine resources and share data with other local researchers and individuals interested in the subject to further understanding of these creatures. Squatchachusetts encourages the public to share their experiences and reach out with questions, emphasizing their commitment to community engagement and collaborative research.

Investigators

Jean Tewksbury
Jean Tewksbury is a cryptid researcher, whose primary research focuses on the Eastern panther, and the on-going sighting in Maine. She has taken part in expeditions dealing with Bigfoot, Dogman, and Mystery cats in Maine. Along with expeditions in Massachusetts, New Jersey, and upstate New York.
On April 2nd of 2022, she had her own sighting of a juvenile mountain lion in Cushing, ME. Looking around the area, she was able to find a track and cast it. Which has fueled her desire to prove the Eastern panther does still exist in the state.

Crystal Panek
After having an encounter with a Bigfoot in upstate New York as a child, Crystal has always had a fascination in all things unexplained. Whether it’s cryptids, the paranormal, or extraterrestrial. She loves it all. This encounter stirred a passion and she is seeking answers. She has been searching for cryptids/paranormal pretty much her entire life. After high school she joined the USAF where she quickly ascended to the rank of Staff Sergeant and then worked in the civilian sector performing a variety of positions and raising a family. She is currently a Field Researcher for the Bigfoot Researchers Organization (BFRO) for the State of NH, a paranormal investigator, and a member of Project ZooBook.
When she’s not investigating, she is a contractor and an author writing computer books for Sybex/Wiley Publishing. She is also a certified Microsoft Engineer. She always goes into every investigation with the intent to obtain evidence. Whether it’s searching for Bigfoot or getting answers to the spirit world. She doesn’t jump to conclusions. She says that, “Not everything in the woods is Bigfoot and not every bump in the night is a ghost.” She NEEDS evidence and is pursuing those answers.

Dave McCullough
Dave was born in 1965 in Lowell Massachusetts, where he still resides. As a young child, the television show “In Search Of” with Leonard Nemoy sparked his interest in Cryptozoology. After a longtime interest and reading information on the internet in the 90’s his eyes were opened to the fact that it wasn’t just a West Coast phenomena. The book Monsters of the North Woods by Paul Bartholomew really hit home and he realized that New York and New England has had a long history amongst native people and early explorers involving the Sasquatch in the Northeast.
In 2005 Dave went from being an avid reader to someone who wanted to be more hands on so he attended a BFRO expedition in Whitehall, NY. After talking to several local eye witnesses, one being a police officer, about their experiences, he was completely hooked.
After the BFRO Expedition he joined the NESRA Research group and attended several expeditions with them in the years since. One of them being part of the group that was used in a Monsterquest episode “Bigfoot in New York”. In 2008, Dave attended one of the first expeditions that included several different research groups of the East Coast in Virginia. These groups investigated continuously for two weeks straight. Since then, he has been to the West Coast multiple times. Since April 2012 Dave and a friend co-founded Squatchachusetts. They have been researching and investigating reports throughout New England and is quite active in Massachusetts.
