An action-packed week where anything can happen. Start off with a complete "hands-on" and "behind the scenes" experience. Everyone will get a chance to pitch in and help feed all the farm animals. Kids will be thrilled as they assist keepers care for river otters, mountain lions, wolves, black bears and the rest of our wildlife. What an awesome way to learn first hand the responsibility and dedication required to take care of these incredible animals.
Arrive by 9am - Pickup by 4pm
Extended care one hour before and one hour after is available for an additional fee.

Campers are encouraged to pursue special interests and have the option to make personal choices throughout the day. Even though campers may break down into smaller groups during the day there is always a daily activity for all campers to participate as a whole. Activities through the week incorporate the theme of each week and are designed to hold the interest of various ages of the children. Recreational Horseback Riding and Behind the Scenes Animal Experience with our North American Wildlife and Agricultural animals; Country games and crafts; Exploration/Hikes; Singing & Skits; Frogging; Campfire cooking; Lunch & Free time; and lots more!
Please note:
The horse back riding program utilizes beginner level horses in order to allow every child the opportunity to participate safely in this activity. The majority of our campers have very little experience when it comes to riding a horse. We do not promote ourselves as a riding camp. Every child loves the opportunity to ride and be around horses. If your child has experience in riding we will do our best to incorporate their abilities in the program.
Appropriate clothing for all weather types, including a second set, if desired. Rubber boots for frogging. Packed lunch and adequate beverages for the day (beverages can be purchased from vending machines on the property). There is refrigeration available. For horseback riding: Long pants; Appropriate sturdy, smooth soled footwear with a slight heel (no sneakers or open toe shoes); You may bring an ASTM F1163 approved helmet or one will be provided.

Ponies, donkeys, miniature horses, saddle horses and giant drafts weighing over a ton are found at Charmingfare Farm. Identify the different breeds and colors of equines. Try out a variety of saddles to see which style you like best. There is special week long project for you to learn about what supplies, equipment, feed and shelter you would need to own a horse. The farrier will be here shoeing the horses and lots of hands on equine fun.
July 5 - July 9th
When we ask our campers what they want to be when they grow up it is always a veterinarian, horse trainer, or zoo keeper. Here is their chance to meet these real life professionals and ask them direct questions. Each afternoon we have scheduled visits from our veterinarian, zoo keepers from different zoos and others. These folks will spend time presenting, explaining and sharing stories about their careers.
July 12- July 16th
Watch a hawk, falcon and the world’s largest owl free fly right in front of your eyes. Learn what two things all raptors have in common. A daytime owl prowl will hopefully produce evidence of where owls hang out and roost. If you love creepy, crawlin’ and slithering creatures this week is for you. A special guest is bringing some amazing reptiles. Uncover and identify some reptiles that live on the farm.
July 26- July 30th
Aug 16 - Aug 20th
The farm is home to some of North America's most furious predators. See mountain lions, wolverines, black bears, wolves and Canadian lynx. Predator prey relationships are extremely important to keep things in nature in balance. We going to take a look at would be the effect if one of those relationships was broken utilizing two of our wildlife animals.
Aug 2 - Aug 6th
“Tug of War” our oxen vs. the entire group of camp kids and counselors. Who do you think will win? What other animals on the farm are used for their power? Our draft horses are extremely powerful; try your hands at driving one of our teams. You will even go for a ride with our draft horse pulling a wagon.
