Internship Opportunity
Do you like to "learn by doing?" We are seeking interested and committed students who desire a unique and challenging compliment to tradition classroom learning. Gain hands-on experience with a variety of agricultural and North American wildlife species. Our staff will work with you to custom design a unique learning experience for you. You will work hard, make no mistake, but you will also gain knowledge and insights that are impossible to find in the classroom. All internships will be individually designed.
- The opportunity to work closely with a particular species
- Hands on experience in animal care and husbandry
- Opportunities to assist in the animal training
- Learn first hand the characteristics and personality of a particular species
- A "learn by doing" hands on education with animals you might not otherwise even encounter
- Experience in the operation of a successful small business
- Hands on marketing of a small business. Work with the top sales representatives in New Hampshire.
- Assist in the design and teaching of education programs to the community

Internships can be arranged in the following departments:
Animal Care
Internships can be arranged to work with any or all of our animals.
Equine
Learning all about the care, feeding and training of saddle and/or draft horses. Experience can include riding, training and driving.
North American Wildlife
Have you ever pet a mountain lion? Work with a variety of wildlife up close and personal. Currently our black bears need a friend, as well as others.
Small Mammal Collection
Working with smaller wildlife animals like raccoons, skunks, porcupines and otters.
Educational
Do you like to teach? The farm offers a large variety of educational programs. Assist in the development and presentation of these programs. Positions are also available in our summer camp program.

Internship opportunities are incredibly flexible. Our staff will work with you to create the perfect format and schedule. We will help you to create a learning experience that will meet your specific needs and interests. At the beginning of your program, you will meet with our staff to outline the goals and expectations of your program. For each part of the farm, there are specific guidelines to be met. Within that framework, there is a great deal of flexibility to accommodate individual goals. We will work with you and your school to meet the necessary criteria for educational credits for your experience.
